Finance Minister, Pravin Gordhan is set to deliver the 2016 Budget Speech on Wednesday, 24 February. This is one of the most important government events of the year because you’ll hear, first hand, the plans government has for your hard earned cash.
But sitting through hours of economic policy and budget deficits can seem a little tedious, if not downright confusing. That’s why we’ve come up with a game that will make it easier to really listen to our Finance Minister and come to grips with the National Budget.
Follow @Absa for live updates of the speech on 24 February 2016.
How to play:
Our Bingo game includes some key phrases, the usual economic factors mentioned and some typical antics thrown in as well. Whenever one of these occurs during the speech, simply mark it off on your card.
When you’ve marked off four blocks in a row – vertically, horizontally or diagonally – we suggest you yell, “Budget Bingo!” You can also announce it to all your followers on social media using the hashtag: #BudgetBingoSA.
Or play it your own way. Gather your friends and family and make up a forfeit that everyone has to do each time you mark off a block on the board.
Download the board below and share it. Right click the image and click “Save as”. Alternatively you can share this blog post.
